Event Report | UNCG training on SDGs principles
On August 6th, the FTCC, in partnership with the UN Global Compact, hosted an enlightening ESG training session headed by Marsha Macatta-Yambi, Executive Director of the Global Compact Network in Tanzania.
The event was a great success, equipping attendees with crucial insights on ESG and highlighting the importance of adopting the UNGC principles and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The UN Global Compact (UNGC), launched by the United Nations in 2000, now includes 25,000 members. It encourages businesses to align their strategies with 10 principles categorized into 4 pillars: human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. UNGC serves as a valuable resource for companies adopting an ESG strategy by providing principles, frameworks, tools, resources, and case studies for best practices. Membership also grants access to a global network for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and promotes transparent ESG performance reporting.
A special thank you to our speaker, Marsha Macatta-Yambi, for her invaluable contribution.
